These are great! Didn't know how much hickories could teach us all. And those crazy nuts also seem prescient of this -- http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/22/sunday-review/hard-truths-about-disclosure.html

Hi Carol, Thanks for commenting! I will have 2 varieties of potted iris for sale in the spring: peach and deep purple/almost black. I may have divisions of some other colors available- will have to wait 'til they bloom to identify the colors.
Did you like the purple poppies? Email me your address and I'll mail you some seed. These are best scattered in a garden bed in winter, preferably while there's snow on the ground. Now would be perfect. But you do have to be careful not to pull them while weeding in the spring.
Hope to see you when it warms up! Anne

Love all the iris. I have light purple or blue, a couple white and a couple yellow. But I want more color variety. Will you have some for sale?

I love the various poppies. We have an abundance of the orange ones. We've greeted them wherever they sprung up each year and now they are every direction. Will you be selling any of yours? If so, how do you propogate them?

I sincerely plan to see you this summer. Several summers ago I bought several plants from you in CR & am most anxious to continue doing so.
I was so excited when I recognized you in Midwest Living.

Hi Janet, Thanks for your interest in the branches! I do remember receiving a message from you. The bunches in the bottom pic are tied in bundles of 5 and are $7 a bunch. Thanks for inquiring, Anne

Hi Anne,
Perhaps you remember me from a message this spring? I live in Marion and was interested in your flowers until we decided to put our house on the market. I love these bunches and wondered if they would come similar to this picture. I have MS so I can never plan ahead much and won't make I.C. sale. So i need to go by pictures. Can you give me a price for example of the 3 bunches in the btm. picture so I have an idea to order online. My sister may also be interested and she lives in Des Moines. These are beautiful. Thanks again, Janet

Ola! Barkandbloom,
On a similar note,, In this latest novel by prizewinning author Ron Rash, the title character relocates with her unscrupulous husband to the mountains of North Carolina to make her fortune in the lumber trade. Rash spins his story like a tall tale, in which the fantastic characters are grounded only by their connection to the harsh realities of the wilderness. Once in North Carolina, Serena quickly establishes her authority with their business partners and with the men in the camp. She shoots bear, tracks panther, and trains an eagle to rid the camp of poisonous snakes.
I'll be back to read more next time

It all starts with chopping and de-seeding peppers. Surgical gloves are a must when chopping anything spicy. The short story is blend all the ingredients, cook it, add pectin at the end, ladle into hot jars and process in hot water bath for 10-15 minutes. My main ingredients are sugar, peppers and apple cider vinegar. You can usually find a recipe included with the liquid pectin pouches or any ball canning cookbook. Good luck!
